Room Project is about the individual memory of spaces of the personal past and the way we record these former spatial experiences.
Part of the research of what happens if 3-dimensional space becomes projected onto the 2-dimensional image plane,
Room Project introduces
autobiographic spatial situations as the elements of investigation. Thus emphasizing the underlying theme of individual memory of spaces of the personal past and the way we record these former spatial experiences.
The first set of Laser Engraves depicts wooden floors of rooms I have lived in in the recent past. The wooden floors were scanned by a regular grid of 2 by 2 cm and depicted merely as an array of points.
These points are then not represented through classic parallel projection as plan but rather through reflection (double projection) at an irregular mirror object. A bending of space occured.
